TRO 10/12/2014

Reduction of speed limit on Mosborough Parkway from 60 to 50.  Although this will not affect cyclists measurably, as the Mosborough Parkway, whilst legally available to cyclists, is not a cycle-friendly road and has the alternative of a National Cycle Network route running alongside it, the CTC SUPPORTS this proposal in the interests of general Road Safety and better Air Quality

Also TRO's relating to Bridgehouses and Woodhouse which have been referred to the CycleSheffield Exec for study.

I tried the NCN running alongside there once.

I wouldn't use it again unless I knew that the surface had been substantially upgraded. It was just passable on a mountain bike, but so twisty, narrow and hilly that it was unusable for actually going anywhere.

If I'm going anywhere now I usually either go through Woodhouse or Fretchville depending on my destination.

Don't know how long ago that was but the entire route is now tarmac from Victoria Wharves to the end of Stone Lane - you then have to cross the landfill site on an unsealed surface but there is a more direct and usable route than the original trail alongside the A57.
